How We Verify Our Data
Accuracy matters when cooking. Here's how we ensure every data point is reliable.
Research Process
- Source collection — at least three independent sources per item
- Cross-referencing — when sources disagree, we use the most conservative recommendation
- Safe temperature validation — all safe internal temperatures are verified against the USDA FSIS safe minimum internal temperature chart (US) and Health Canada safe cooking temperatures (Canada). Where the two authorities differ we show both numbers with both attributions, and enforce the stricter of the two as the validation floor
- Confidence rating — each item is rated high, medium, or low based on source agreement
Limitations
Air fryer times vary based on:
- Air fryer model and wattage
- Food thickness and starting temperature
- How full the basket is
Our times are guidelines. Always use a food thermometer for meat and seafood.
